Victor D' Hill Dedication
Do You Defib? Save Someones life now!
Victor D' Hill died on the football practice field at the age of 15 due to cardiac dysrhythmia of undetermined etiology, and although the efforts to save him were as well-meaning as any humans could provide, there is a chance, if an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) had been attached to him within three minutes, he might be here today. The chance for survival dramatically increases with the use of an AED within the proper time frame.
After the loss of my brother, I became educated to the effectiveness of AEDs, as well as alarmed by the fact that most schools and youth organizations are not properly prepared for SCA (Sudden Cardiac Arrest). Every year, several young people die needlessly because some organization, school system, or church group has not taken the proper steps to have an AED within three minutes of all their participating athletes or students.
